Norwegian company Sigma Drilling signed and made effective a contract with STX Korea to build a DP ultra deepwater drillship based on the BT-UDS designed by Bassoe Technology. High transit speed with large storage and payload capacity were the main aspects for the drillship design. The vessel is design for exploration and appraisal drilling incl well testing, production drilling, completion of subsea wells, installation of templates, Xmas trees and subsea equipment, workover, intervention and maintenance of subsea wells. Dual activity vessel with possibility to store 2 BOP and up to 12 Xmas trees onboard. The 4 knuckle boom cranes and riser gantry crane will handle piping, while subsea equipment will use skidbeams around moonpool. The 75400 MT vessel has 25000 MT paylod including 153,500 bbls fluids and 37500 cuft bulk.

Bassoe Technology has provided a fully class approved detail design package for the Helix ESG purpose built well intervention semi contracted for construction at Jurong, Singapore. The Unit is planned to be delivered Q1-2015. The semi is a cost efficient unit, where Bassoe Technology have performed the global performance design, motions, DP, weight and stability, the structural global and local detailed FE analysis, systems design for ballast, bilge and sounding, as well as outfitting layouts. Documents have been submitted to ABS for their design approval. Helix has provided input for the topside layouts together with drilling equipment vendors. Jurong has provided detail engineering for the systems design, electrical design, architectural design together with Helix.
