Brasil Ecodiesel is the biggest Brazilian biodiesel company, according to the Agência Nacional de Petróleo, Gás Natural e Biocombustiveis (ANP) (National Agency of Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels). As of 2010[update], the company has six production plants in operation, with total biodiesel production capacity of 640000 m3/a. The company also engages in the sale and supply of biodiesel in Brazil.[3]
The company is involved in the processing and sale of vegetable oils and byproducts, including byproducts of oilseeds and biofuels, production and sale of agricultural products, and production of chemicals from industrial processing of oilseeds and seeds. It also manages the storage and transportation of biofuel products and byproducts, for itself and for third parties.
The company was founded in 2003 and is headquartered in Rio de Janeiro.
