A Rotolock valve is a special refrigeration valve with a teflon ring seated against a machined surface enclosed by a threaded fitting. It is used in many applications of the refrigeration industry, mainly when specifically requested by the customer. This valve is easily installed and removed in only seconds. When in place, this valve will allow the technician to remove all refrigerant from the compressor without requiring removal of the system charge. This provides a huge time savings as well as a huge monetary savings. Not only is money saved by reducing labor costs, but the need for replacement refrigerant is minimized. If the compressor is part of a large system the system charge could amount to several thousand dollars.
