Shell Oil Company "Spectacular" Sign is a historic sign at 187 Magazine Street in Cambridge, Massachusetts, United States.
The Shell Oil Company sign was built in 1933 and added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1994. Some of the thousands of light bulbs burned out such that it appeared to spell "HELL." Offended neighborhood residents petitioned for it be turned off. It has remained unlit for over two years. Shell Oil and the Historical Society are in a stale-mate over who will repair it to the original specifications of its 1933 design.
